Of the two deer head masked killer cult films I’ve seen this year, this one loses. <- Peculiar theme to kick off the new year, I know.

It wasn’t imaginative whatsoever, borrowed the worst aspects of the genre, and just ended up feeling lazy. Really, the most interesting part of the film was the last 5 minutes. Even that wasn’t original, but it was at least entertaining.

Alternatives: Green Inferno, Halloween, Invisible Man, Antebellum, anything by Jordan Peele…
