Beyond my typical review that Netflix has the romantic comedy genre on lock? This premise is a genius idea for the holidays.
The cast, the story, the chemistry… This thing fires on all cylinders. You’ll laugh, cry, yell at the TV. *Chef’s Kiss*
Sometimes, fate has a funny way of getting us to the right place at the right time. Even if it isn’t our plan.
As rough as this one got in the middle, with an imbalance between the douche and the dreamboat, it really sticks the landing and gets you misty-eyed by the time the credits roll.
This one checks all the boxes. If you want to find love, owning or frequenting an antique shop is an excellent place to start. Bonus points if a few generations pass it down. Moral of the story: it’s incredible what can happen when you combine a mind full of trivial knowledge with actually listening to the woman you plan to woo.
After catching this on the TV in bits and pieces at the nursing home I worked in… I then spent the next 6 months trying to track it down. There was no better feeling than finally hitting pay dirt and reconnecting with my all time favorite hallmark movie. It may be cheesy, and it may be predictable… but it still tugs at the heart strings with the best of them! An underrated cast brings the holiday spirit in rare form, and knocks it out of the park. Wrap yourself in a blanket and break out the hot cocoa… and settle in for some good old fashioned holiday magic.
