“Ted Lasso”

9.1

Finally caved and got on the bandwagon. Well worth the all-day binge! Jason Sudeikis kills it as Ted, but has a stellar cast surrounding him that fire on all cylinders every episode. The quality of product here is other-worldly. Another home run for Apple TV+. A work of comedic art, blending wit with just the right amount of edginess and attitude. And inspiration… you’ll be ready to run through walls for coach when it’s all said and done. Whether you enjoy futbol/football/soccer or not, you’ll likely love this lovable lad Lasso. Bravo!

“The Marksman”

6.5

Meh…

If you enjoy the “Taken” franchise and Clint Eastwood’s recent politically-tinged thrillers, then you’ll enjoy this one. Subtlety and nuance definitely aren’t what you’re going to get here. A fairly ham-handed relationship that blossoms between the son and Liam, replacing the daughter he pushes away as the film progresses. I’ve seen worse, I’ve seen better.

“I Blame Society”

7.4

Remember when everyone was worried what would happen to people who watched “Joker?” Well, those chickens have come home to roost. Basically, this is what happens when you watch too much true crime and get bored.

The style of this film is fascinating, and adds a nice differentiation to the film. The story I feel like I’ve seen before, but still left me entertained. If you’re looking for a movie you don’t have to think too much about, and will make you cock your head and go “what the actual f**k is going on right now”… here it is!
